Untold story behind the National Anthem.

I always wonder why we have to sing the national anthem every morning in school, and not once any teacher cared talking about the story behind it and so with the violence extremism that almost consume most part of the northeastern Nigeria i taught why not give a clarification for our youths coming up through this night mare.

Arise, O compatriots, Nigeria`s call obey

To serve our fatherland

With love and strength and faith

The labor of our heroes past

Shall never be in vain

To serve with heart and might

One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.

Arise, O compatriots: It`s very disheartening and alarming for a citizen in Nigeria be it Muslim, Christian or traditionalist to fold our arms in fear, political or personal interest when Nigeria`s call obey, we need to adhere when the call arises be it in the south, west, east or north of the country, I wouldn’t be pointing fingers at our political, traditional and religious leaders alone, we the citizens have a greater portion and role to play when the nations calls arises, in the past 8years we citizens would have prevented the befallen crises on our nation a small group (Boko Haram) that would have been destabilized through advocacy starting right from our homes by mothers and places of worship and schools but we neglected the call of nation and gave chance to this small armed group into the biggest terrorist group and night mare in our beloved nation Nigeria.

To serve our fatherland its supposedly to be in every Nigerian`s interest to stand and serve our beloved countries interest at hand, which it shouldn’t be physically or monitory but in forms of self-rendered services in communities with few or no available teachers in nursery and primary schools in camp setting and most host communities in the northeast of Nigeria, but with some help of some patriots Nigerians, where u see volunteers from the civilians and military serving in schools both in camp settings and host communities, With love and strength and faith this is to show that we still have some faith and love in some of our hearts to see people using their spare time giving un-privileged kids chance to study in the current disaster our beloved country is in.

The labor of our heroes past is so unfortunate that our founding fathers never envisaged the nation crumbling into a state of apathy and disarray. Our heroes past who fought for our independence from the British colony never knew that someday, the nation they jeopardized their lives for would one day be sitting on a keg of gunpowder.(A BLEEDING NATION- The tears of Nigerian). Shall never be in vain the labor of our heroes past is trying to be in vain as we are battling in agony and dismay, apart from the insecurity some corrupt leaders and religious criminals pave way in our youths brains, brainwashing youths into religious violence and terrorism day in day out in all part of the country destroying the good work of some few patriots in the system.

To serve with heart and might is the only option of our dear country, for when all serve with heart and might we might see an early end to the befallen calamity that falls on our country, and by doing so politician, civil servant, military, paramilitary, public and private sector must come clean, for this un-stopping and un-ending war(boko haram) has nothing to do with incapacity of the Nigerian Army to handle them but willingness of hands in the country, one way or the other these extremist had ways of getting help all these years in the forest, to protect our countries interest we must do away with our self-destructive interest. Only then we will have One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
